Artificial intelligence startup OpenAI announced on Wednesday that it is rolling out Advanced Voice Mode to all ChatGPT Plus and Team users, which makes ChatGPT conversations more real-time and smooth, and adds Custom Instructions, Memory functionality, five new voices, and improved accents.

OpenAI stated that Plus or Team users of ChatGPT will see notifications in the app when they gain access to advanced voice mode. After testing, iPhone users can now use advanced voice mode and select 5 new sounds including Maple, Spruce, Sol, Vale, and Arbor after updating ChatGPT, bringing the total number of voices in ChatGPT to 9.

OpenAI states that the advanced voice mode has added custom commands (allowing users to personalize ChatGPT's response), memory (allowing ChatGPT to remember conversation content for future reference), and improved the speed, fluency, and accent of specific non English language conversations.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman also announced the launch of the advanced voice mode on social media platforms, stating that it will be completed within a week (gradually open to Plus and Team users within a week).
